House Update

The house is coming along slowly. Not because of the contractors but the weather. Roy and Rusty Goodhart have been wonderful about being here and working. For the hours worked it is actually coming along nicely. I am just a little (whole lot) impatient. It looks like it will be the end of the year or the first part of January before we are ready to move in.

Alicia is playing where they will be pouring concrete next week in front of the garage.

4-H Hayride

The 4-H Hayride was hosted by Chuck and Tammy Mason and was a HUGE success. I know this because at 2 am Alicia had to climb in bed with me because she was having nightmares of a man chasing her with a chainsaw. Thanks Matt. The girls had so much fun that they can't wait until next year to see what Chuck and Matt come up with.

House Update

The guys have made a lot of progress in the few days we have experienced sunshine. The garage is ready for the concrete floor. They put down the sub-floor and have started on the outer walls for the upstairs.

The House

We are finally building! Finally a house with more than one bathroom for the six of us to share. This means I can sleep later in the morning instead of having to be the first one out of bed so I can get a shower or at least a hot shower.

The house was to be finished and we were to have been moved in before school started but because of all the rain Roy and Rusty (Goodhart Construction) couldn't get anything done.

Kelly and Alicia love playing on the huge piles of dirt. Kelly think the mounds of dirt would make an awesome gocart track.

Monroe County Bucket Calf Show

Kelly and her calf K-1 A.K.A. Ribeye took top honors at the fair. The won Champion Bucket Calf sponsored by Monroe County Fair Board. Kelly got a really cool plaque. Here are several pictures of her showing her calf. Kelly's calf was the twin sister to the calf to A-1 Steak Sauce that her BFF Abbie showed.

Alicia finds herself a comfortable place to set while waiting on Kelly and Abbie to show their twin heifer calves. Earlier Alicia had been laying on the calf.

J.T. is showing his steer in the heavy weight class, his steer weighed in at a hefty 1410. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Turner bought J.T.'s steer at the sale, this was the 50th steer that the Turner family has bought from a Youth Fair.
